This class deals with understanding the basic laws of thermo-dynamics. It probes efficiency and examines energy-converting devices from the inputs, processes, outputs model. Internal combustion engines, electric motors, hydraulic, pneumatic, and gearing systems, and fuel analysis are reviewed from a practical and theoretical perspective. Prerequisites: MATH 1315 and PHYS 1315 and 1115 or PHYS 1410 or PHYS 1430
