Minor in Pre-Physician Assistant Studies
The undergraduate minor in Pre-Physician Assistant Studies requires 48 semester credit hours. This minor contains prerequisite courses commonly required by physician assistant (PA) programs in the United States. Individual PA schools may require or recommend additional courses, and prerequisites can change without notice. BIO 2451 & BIO 2452 may be taken instead of [BIO 3425 or BIO 4464] and [BIO 3426 or BIO 3421]. Both BIO 2451 and BIO 2452 must be taken to satisfy the 8 hours of anatomy & physiology requirement but students should understand that these courses are not accepted by the public PA programs in Texas.

It is highly recommended that students take BIO 3425 & BIO 3426, since all public physician assistant schools in Texas accept these for the anatomy and physiology requirement.

While BIO 3425 is the ideal anatomy course, BIO 4464 can satisfy this requirement.
