Second Teaching Field in History (Grades Seven through Twelve)
For students who are seeking a teacher certification within their major and would like a second teaching field in History, the requirements are:

|HIST 2312||History of World Civilization from the 17th Century||3|
|HIST 3372||Texas History: A Survey||3|
|HIST 4380||Historical Resources and Practices||3|
|Select one from Group A (World History)||3|
|Select one from Group B (European History)||3|
|Select one from Group C (U.S. History)||3|
All students pursuing teacher certification must apply and be accepted to the Office of Educator Preparation.
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) requires multiple background checks for progression through the Educator Preparation Program. Based on information recorded in your criminal history, you may be ineligible for issuance of a teaching certificate upon completion of the Educator Preparation Program.
