Certificate in French for the Professions
The Department of World Languages and Literatures offers a Certificate in French for the Professions. This program targets students who wish to focus on French in the professional sphere without having to complete the full major or minor in French, who wish to include the certificate as part of their major or minor, and/or who plan to pursue professional careers that involve the regular use French. The objective of students in the certificate program will be to adapt their linguistic proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking French to knowledge of a field, including, but not limited to, foreign service, the state department, banking and finance, journalism, media, publishing, travel and leisure services, and medicine. Our objective is to provide students with the building blocks that will lead to rewarding professional employment.
