Texas State Certificate Program Application of Completion

Students in the certificate programs must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 in order to receive a certificate of completion for the program. See the table above for the specific GPA and course grade requirements per certificate program. A final course grade of "C" or higher is required for any graduate course that may be applied towards a graduate certificate at Texas State. All certificate course work must be completed within four years of initial enrollment.

In order to receive the certificate, a student must apply for graduation in the semester in which they plan to complete the certificate; although they are not eligible to participate in commencement ceremonies unless they are also earning a degree simultaneously. Late applications will not be accepted. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure completion of all certificate requirements as listed on the degree audit and required by the department. It is also the student's responsibility to apply for graduation by the published deadline posted on the University Academic Calendar. That date, as well as other deadline dates, and instructions outlining how to apply for graduation are posted on The Graduate College website each term. Deadlines are also communicated via the GradBulletin. Students who have missed the application deadline will have to apply for graduation during the next semester. For further information regarding the graduation application deadline, contact The Graduate College at 512.245.2581 or visit our website at: http://gradcollege.txstate.edu/students/deadlines.html.

Certificate and degree programs are approved in accordance with guidelines provided by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Texas State University System Board of Regents.
