Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences (B.S.F.C.S.) Major in Nutrition and Foods (Dietetics Track)

Minimum required: 122 semester hours

General Requirements

  1. In addition to general education core requirements, majors take courses in agriculture, biology, and chemistry, and specialized courses in food science, food systems, food service, management, nutritional assessment, physiology and nutrition, wellness and fitness, lifespan nutrition, biochemical nutrition, functional foods and nutraceuticals, medical nutrition therapy, and nutrition and genetics.
  2. Majors must maintain a Texas State and major GPA of 2.75 or higher in order to graduate.
  3. Majors participate in an internship.
  4. No minor is required.
  5. If two years of the same foreign language were taken in high school, then no additional language hours will be required for the degree. In the absence of such high school language, two semesters of the same modern language must be taken at the college level.
