Hispanic Literature and Culture in English (HSPN)
HSPNÂ 2301. Cultures and Literatures of the Hispanic World.
In this course, taught in English, students survey representative writers and texts from the late Renaissance through the modern era that reflect the regional cultures, diverse identities, and literary traditions of the Hispanic world, broadly defined. Through analysis of primary and secondary texts in English translation, students examine the complex interrelationships among artistic, historical, linguistic, and socio-political factors that shape writing produced in Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, and the United States.
